Digester Heater
The use of a Submerged Combustion (S.C) burner as a digester heater is an economical alternative to the use of boilers and heat exchangers.
The S.C. unit will produce a heat transfer to the sludge of ca. 98% at 38°C. When compared to the traditional boiler/exchanger system the benefits can be seen immediately. With the minimal amount of biogas used there is ample spare for other uses such as power generation.
Benefits
- S.C.U. heats & conditions the sewage sludge to aid digestion.
- The increased sludge conditioning promotes a more rapid rate of digestion giving reduced digester residence time thus effectively increasing digester capacity.
- Operates primarily on Biogas with Natural gas or LPG as a suplimentary fuel in case of low biogas level.
- Easily retrofitted.
- Significant Whole Life Cost savings over traditional heating methods.
- Easy to operate.
- Low operating and maintenance costs.
- MAD can be achieved in a reduced time frame.
- Eliminates the need for costly annual boiler inspections and repairs.
- The use of High Efficiency Motors and Variable Speed Drives to control sludge temperature reduces gas and power consumption.
- Bespoke system design improves economy.
